According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, clinical research demonstrates that Neurofeedback is very effective for children and adolescents with ADHD. This is very exciting news, especially for parents and children with adverse effects to medication. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report “About half of preschoolers with ADHD were taking medication for ADHD”. This is the first time in history we have this many children on medications and the number is increasing. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Attention Deficit Disorder makes it extremely difficult to focus and concentrate because there are deficiencies in attention, motor activity, and impulsivity parts of the brain. Studies show that children with ADD lack self-confidence, high rates of anxiety, and more fidgety. People with ADHD have a very difficult time starting tasks and completing them. As a result of inability to concentrate, people have many more challenges that those who do not have this condition. Children tend to lack self-confidence and have academic and social problems as well. Neurofeedback not only increases mental performance; but also, improves social skills. Most importantly, studies indicate the benefits of sustain for years after therapy.
